Later horizontal fold. Contains numerous advertisements making it clear just how important slaves and slavery were in the business and prosperity of Charleston. Among the advertisements in this issue are ones offering or seeking a plantation, a "likely negro wench." a "smart active negro boy," a runaway and "120 suits negro Clothes." Perhaps most striking is the advertisement announcing "The Sale, of 367 Prime Congo Negroes, on board the ship Esther, at Craft's North Wharf ...." Good. Item #89470
