1890. 2 1/4 legal-sized pages. Letter misdated 1990. Folded. Original envelope present (stamped corner missing). Forrest was a yeoman and is writing to his sister in Brooklyn. He mentions that May 10th, the day of their arrival was a gala day because of the wedding of a Japanese prince, describes the jinrikishas, Yokohama, and Japanese ladies, noting toward the end that "Everything European is in vogue."
