The Land of the Chrysanthemum. With Photographs by the Author
n.p. n.d. [ca. 1914?]. 13 pages typed double-spaced on 26cm. x 21cm. sheets with several corrections in ink by the author plus 19 original photos (9 x 11.5cm.) mounted through slits on 19 x 21cm. sheets with informative captions typed under each photo. The manuscript leaves are fragile with creasing, chipping and tears, but only minor loss of text. The photos have browned, but are of nice quality with good detail. One photo shows a long line of priests passing down a street. The caption: "Once every hundred years all the priests of Japan march in procession through the streets of Kyoto. The next procession will be in the year 2011." We don't know if this article with these photos was ever published. Item #56877
