Item #75502 Three Typed Letters, signed and One Autograph Note, signed. Florenz H. Hough.

Three Typed Letters, signed and One Autograph Note, signed

1971. All are dated 1971. Mailing envelopes preserved. Letters sent to John E. Edwards, a Connecticut bookseller and sometime publisher in the 1960s and early 1970s, who contacted many African American writers seeking copies of their books and biographical information for a projected, but never published, book/bibliography on "Negro" writers. Hough was probably contacted by Edwards because of "Black Paradise," a novel by Hough published in 1953. These letters concern a manuscript of a translation by Hough of Abbe Gregoire's famous work on "Negro" intellectual possibilities and achievement which Mr. Hough had sent at Edwards' request and which Hough was seeking to retrieve or get some firm publication offer from Edwards. Very Good. Item #75502
