n.p. n.d. [ca. 1953?]. Hardcover. 23 professional photographs mounted one to a page on one side of 23 album leaves. Photos are 23 x 17cm. INSCRIBED to Stevenson by Major General Mohamed Naguib on a stiff off-white album leaf which precedes the other album leaves. Hardcover in later (very recent) quarterbinding (marbled boards backed in dark blue leather). Oblong (33 x 24cm.). Sound and clean. There are seven photos of Stevenson (and sometimes other Americans) meeting with Naguib, Nasser or other top Egyptian officials. Almost all of the other 16 photos are of Stevenson with a camel or Stevenson riding on a camel. The sphinx or a pyramid appears in the background of most of the camel photos. Above Naguib's signature is written in English: "Souvenir of the visit of the great American Leader Mr. A. Stevenson to Egypt. It would be a great pleasure to me if he would kindly accept this small token as a sign of the great appreciation to him by every Egyptian. My greetings and best wish to the great people of the U.S.A." Naguib's English inscription is preceded by an inscription in Arabic. Near Fine. Item #78360
