n.p. n.d. [ca. 1920]. 28 photos pasted on the stiff card leaves. Many approximately 8 x 11cm.; 3 are smaller and 11 are larger. Almost all photos captioned in ink on the album leaf or on mounted slips of paper. Quality varies, but photos generally above average. 5 photos, all high quality & mounted on a single page, show scenes during the April 1920 "disturbances" in Palestine. Captions (on slips of paper) as follows: Searching a Polish Jew; An Aeroplane over the Walled City during the disturbances 1920; Pedestrians being searched for arms (Jaffa Gate) during disturbances April 1920; One of the cars of the Light Car Patrol Jerusalem April 1920; and Searching a Greek priest. 9 other photos were taken after a February 1920 snow storm dumped about 29 inches of snow on Jerusalem. One of the snowy photos is captioned "G.K. Chesterton in Jerusalem Feb. 1920"; 4 of the other snowy photos show the Mosque of Omar; and 1 shows members of 1st Bn Green Howards clearing a track to the Supply Depot on Feb. 13th. There are four photos of Englishmen playing tennis. Three of the large photos show soldiers and others at ceremonies on Dec. 9, 1919 to mark the anniversary of the capture of Jerusalem. These album pages came to us together with a partial photo album relating to Condon's military service in India. Very Good. Item #78689
