Famous Women Poisoners

[1], [7]-191p. Typescript. Unbound (although each part is stapled together). 29 cm. We are missing Chapter (or Part) I titled "Some Roman Ladies" which must have been 6-7 pages since we appear to have the other 18 Chapters listed on the Contents leaf which is present and unnumbered. There are no footnotes or bibliography. Some pages are chipped or edge-worn. The text has various overstrikes and other typed corrections. We found no autograph corrections. Good. "Ethel Paige Literary Agency" stamp on inexpensive paper folder and on back of last page in each Part. Note also written at bottom of first page of each chapter (or section): "Submitted by Ethel Paige Literary Agency, 1687 Bwy, NYC.". Fleischer is best known as a boxing authority who served for 50 years as editor of Ring Magazine (which he owned for almost all of that time). We didn't know that he wrote on other subjects. We also don't know when he wrote this but would guess sometime in the 1940s. This came to us with a small batch of typed Fleischer manuscripts. We found no record of such a book having been published although it is possible that some or all of this appeared in one or more periodicals. Fair. Item #81608

Price: $150.00
