Potash and Perlmutter: Defendant's Version [and] Potash and Perlmutter: Plaintiff's Version

New York: Isaac Goldmann, n.d. [presumably sometime after 1910]. Paperback. 69, 60p. Softcover in original gray wrappers. 25cm. "Conformed copy" in pencil in upper right corner of front cover. Both versions have some inked corrections. Also included is a carbon copy of a typed 5-page "Statement by Montague Glass" which is identified in left corner of first page with "O'Dea v. Woods." In the statement Glass reviews the nature of his aborted collaboration with Charles Klein. "Potash and Perlmutter" stories by Montague Glass appeared in the Saturday Evening Post and he also wrote a book titled "Potash and Perlmutter" which was published in 1909. A "Potash and Perlmutter" play opened on Broadway in 1913. We suspect that these three items were prepared for, or used as Exhibits in, a lawsuit in which authorship or ownership of the play was being litigated, probably sometime during or after 1913. Very Good. Item #86588
