Lacks A1 (which had only a signature mark and leaf 2F4 which was a final blank. Leaf B1 has a horizontal split on the center half of the leaf. All edges red (although some of the red is gone). Mostly modest soiling. Closely trimmed at top, probably when rebound, cutting off part of page numbers on a few leaves. An uncommon book by Jewel who was consecrated Bishop of Salisbury in 1560 and defended the Elizabethan Settlement against the Roman Catholic Church in his "Apologia Ecclesiae Anglicanae" which was first published in 1562.
