Ends of backstrip worn and there is splitting along the upper portion of the front joint. The contents have some age-toning and a bit of wear along fore-edge but are otherwise sound and clean. A pencil note on a flyleaf erroneously identifies this as the even scarcer large paper edition (which measured about 31cm.). Sadly, it also appears to be wrong in identifying one of the two Lincoln prints which are mounted or tipped in as being autographed. A contemporary printed image of Seward and an image of Lincoln and his son Tad in Richmond have also been added to this copy. There is also a somewhat less scarce 1865 Albany imprint for this item.
