Moderate staining and wrinkling in upper right corner and extending partway across top margin of text leaves; contents otherwise sound and clean. Uncommon history of this African American regiment. The 25th served in the West, saw action in the Spanish American War, and was later stationed in the Philippines, Hawaii and Arizona. Nankivell, identified on title-page as Captain, 25th Infantry, appears on page 156 as one of the white officers in the front row of a group photo. Good. Item #87303
