Collins, the editor/publisher, had served as general agent of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society and had been involved in persuading Frederick Douglass to assume a public speaking role on behalf of the anti-slavery cause. Collins shifted his attention in 1843 to founding a utopian community in Skaneateles, New York. The utopian community lasted only three years. Very Good. Item #88009
