Issued to support the candidacy of William B. Brandon, an African American and a lawyer in Newark, who was seeking election on November 4th to the New Jersey General Assembly as a Democrat. Brandon is mentioned on page 13 of the NAACP's 14th annual report (1923) for working with the NAACP to successfully oppose extradition to Georgia of Lockhart Drake, charged with burglary and shooting with intent to kill.
