Old, but not original, blue cloth. Gilt titling on backstrip and front cover. 21 cm. Spine lettering faded. Ends and backstrip and edges and corners lightly frayed. Minor foxing. Pencil scribbles almost completely erased on a few pages. Some leaves or gatherings of leaves partially pulled. Lacks rear free endpaper. Probably should be rebound. Dr. Majors, the author of this uncommon book, was born in Waco, Texas, and graduated from Meharry Medical College in 1886. He practiced medicine briefly in Texas and elsewhere but the bulk of his professional life was spent in Chicago. After he lost his most of his eyesight in the mid-1920s, he relocated to California where he had practiced briefly from 1888-1890. Fair. Item #90581
