Contents sound with significan foxing and browning throughout plus staining in lower right corner of text and plates. Dalzel is identified on the title-page as "formerly Governor at Whydah, and now at Cape-Coast-Castle." He profited from the slave trade while in West Africa and defends the practice in this book.
