Hager began producing this pro-Union musical entertainment in 1863 and continued presenting versions until 1885. This Springfield printing includes a heavy dose of advertisements and testimonials, some dated 1867 or 1868, for Steinway pianos -- Steinway material is found on the back cover, the inner side of both front and back covers and pages 1-2, 16-18 and 32.
