[New York?]: n.d. [postmarked 1940. Postcard. 9 x 14 cm. Sepia photo with typed lettering at bottom of card " Small's Paradise, 135th Street and 7th Ave, New York City. Postmarked New York 1940 with the sender's short holograph message beneath printed promotional information about the club. Addressed to someone in Los Angeles. Small's Paradise was the only "well-known" nightclub in Harlem owned by an African American and was integrated unlike the well-known white-owned clubs. Small's Club opened in 1925 and was owned by Ed Smalls until he sold the club in 1955. Very Good. Item #91706
