[Lexington?]: (1941). Paperback. Folded four-page mimeo program stapled at upper left corner to a folding cover which has an appealing titled front page ("Negro Song Festival Lexington, Ky. U. K. Gym Sunday May 11") and is otherwise blank. 22 cm. Sponsored by the Music Department of the University of Kentucky, and the Kentucky Federation of Music Clubs. Organized by the Recreation Project of the Work Projects Administration in Kentucky. The combined chorus was directed by M. F. Cruse, Director of the Lexington Community Chorus. We don't any feeling that this was an opportunity for African American singers to perform. We don't know whether World War II put an end to this festival but we found nothing online about any "Negro Song Festivals" in Lexington after 1941. Very Good. Item #92231

Price: $150.00
