Chipping and fraying at ends of backstrip. Cover corners rubbed (some loss of cloth). Forner owner's name and address ("Mary V. Denegre .. New Orleans"). inked on front free endpaper. Lacks one illustration "Home of James Trezevany" which should face page 98). There were white Denegres in Southhampton who apparently came to Southhampton from Haiti or Santo Domingo. The former owner of this book may have had a father who lived in Southahmpton. An old holographic note is laid in at page 122 disagrees in some unclear fashion with text about the Denegres. Good.
