African American Soldiers in Germany. Truck Company Heavy

26 black and white photos Pasted down 1-3 to a page on one side of fifteen album leaves. Seven of the album leaves are detached. Seven photos are about 14 x 19 cm. and another seven are about 6 x 10 cm. Most of the other twelve are somewhat larger or a bit smaller than the 6 x 10s. Tied oblong album worn but sound. 23 x 21 cm. Red circular stamp on endpapers for "The Munich Photographer" located at Turkenstrasse 99, Munchen 13. Seven album leaves are detached. One large photo shows an entrance to a base with "...rters -- Command ..H Transportation Truck Company Heavy" visible on signage above the entrance. All of the pictured soldiers are African Americans. We are not experts on military stuff. Our best guess is that this is likely to have been a segregated "Negro" transportation unit -- such as the 77th Transportation Company Truck Company Heavy (Negro) -- in Germany after the end of World War II and before the unit was integrated. Joseph Prather Jr., a Captain, is the highest ranking individual in these photos. Good. Item #93085
