Contemporary quarterbinding (patterned paper-covered boards backed in green leather). 22 cm. Leather on backstrip sunfaded to a greenish brown. Covers scuffed and rather heavily worn around edges. Contents sound. Inner margin almost nonexistent suggesting that this copy was bound after it was written. The test appears to be quite readable, although perhaps with some effort (and magnification) since the handwriting is rather small and individual letters are often not carefully and clearly written. Italian text. The author or authors of this copied work about Pope Sixtus V is unknown to us, as is the identity of the copyist. Good. Item #93362
