Sister Gonzaga and 24 other Sisters of Charity were requisitioned by Surgeon-General Hammond in 1862 to nurse sick and wounded soldiers at Satterlee Hospital in Philadelphia in 1862 and appear to have remained there until the end of the war. Sister Gonzaga, 1812-1897, was in charge of the Sisters of Charity at the hospital. (This period is covered at pages 106-206 in the book). Very Good. Item #93621
