London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, Green, and Longman, 1834. Hardcover. 13 plates (4 hand-colored, including frontis), 264p. Original pebbled green cloth. 33 cm. Recased with new lining on spine and the addition of new hinge cloth an additional of white free endpapers, apparently to augment the original endpapers. Backstrip has some modest old chipping along right side and may have been partially rebacked. The backstrip has certainly been repaired at top and along left side, where there was loss of some of the original backstrip, by the careful addition of dark tape(?) that seems to works satisfactorily with the color of the original cloth. Later owner's name (dated 1851) on original free endpaper. Offsetting of frontis image on title-page. Minor foxing, mostly on some plates. Printed label on front cover identifies this as a Large Paper Subscription Copy with an original price of Three Guineas. Very Good. Item #94401

Price: $1,750.00
