Dedication page has former owner's name (James T. Benson 2nd Lieut. 366 Inf"). No Jacket (presumably as published). The 366th was a segregated African American unit which was activated at Fort Devens, Massachusetts in February, 1941. The 366th was sent to North Africa in 1944 and then to Italy where it was attached to the 92nd Division. Unlike most African American units, all of the 366th's officers were African American rather than white. Edward W. Brooke, the first African American to be elected to the U. S. Senate since Reconstruction, served with the 366th during World War II although we didn't notice his photo in this volume. Fair. Item #94554
