Item #95715 Religions of Africa

Religions of Africa

n.p. n.d. [probably early 1900s]. Small four-page leaflet. 15 cm. No author or publisher listed but probably published by some Protstant missionary board or entity to rally support and donations. The leaflet disparages Islam: "Islam lifts the primitive African socially and commercially, but intellectually and morally it does little for him. It is the most defiant foe to Christianity in Africa." The brief final paragraph about canibalism concluded: "The principal cannibal zone extends from the West Guinea coast eastward to the headwaters of the Nile, and includes the most of the enormous Congo Basin." This leaflet cme to us with a couple of other small laflets relating to Presbyterians missions in Africa. Very Good. Item #95715
