Washington: GPO, 1906. 1st ed. Hardcover. full-page black and white photos (we counted 26 -- they are not numbered or included in the pagination), large folding Lock Canal Project map laid in (not bound in) in, 33p. Oblong half leather. 30 x 25 cm. All edges gilt. Some chipping on front cover along top and fore-edge. Front joint scuffed. Small fore-edge bump on back cover. Internally sound and clean. "Mrs. Douglas Robinson" in gilt at bottom of leather portion of front cover. The folding map is almost as new. No jacket -- it probably didn't have one although it might possibly have had a box. Mrs. Robinson appears to be Theodore Roosevelt's politically active younger sister Corinne who lived in New York. This copy was probably specially bound for her. Online information locates The Rose Bindery, whose name appears inside on the leather inside the back cover, in Boston. Very Good. Item #95931
