According to the Preface by Charles Allen Dinsmore, the manuscript for this book had been accepted and paid for by J. G. Holland, editor of "Century" (later "The Century Magazine") but returned unpublished to Prichard several years later after Holland was succeeded as editor of the magazine by Richard Watson Gilder. According to Dinsmore, the book was being published after Prichard's recent death at the behest of some of her friends. OCLC locates 9 copies and identifies it as for a juvenile audience. Very Good.
